Terms of use
Last updated: 6 November 2026
These terms cover your use of the Trust Index website and its published data. The Trust Index is published by LittPro Inc., a Delaware corporation ("we"). By using the site or the data you agree to these terms.
What the Trust Index is
A dated measurement of how often AI assistants recommend businesses in a defined market, in answer to a published set of questions, using a published method. Each reading describes what the assistants answered during its capture window, and nothing more.
What it is not
It is not a rating of quality, safety, licensing standing or customer satisfaction. It is not an endorsement by us or by any AI company. AI assistants did not rank anything: we asked them questions and counted their answers. It is not advice, so do not rely on it alone to choose a builder, a retirement home, a contractor or a lawyer; check the regulator's register and do your own diligence. The Trust Index is not affiliated with OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Perplexity or Anthropic.
No business can pay for placement
No business can pay to be tested, listed, scored, moved or removed. Paid monitoring, badge licences, data licences and assessor licences never change eligibility, scores, wording or placement. LittPro Inc. and Hey Taylor, an AI-search agency, are related companies. Businesses that are Hey Taylor clients are marked 'Agency client'. Where Hey Taylor acts as a Trust Index assessor, it does so on the same terms as every other assessor. An assessment is a private diagnostic for the business that commissions it. It never produces, changes or influences a Trust Index rating, ranking or badge. Only index readings produce ratings. Section 8 of the methodology sets out how the conflict is handled.
Limits of the measurement
AI answers vary between runs, accounts, locations and over time, and assistants change without notice. If you ask the same questions yourself you may get different answers. We publish run counts and spread so you can judge how stable a result is. The site and data are provided as is, without any warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.
Using our data
Readings, rankings and findings as published on this site, including their charts, are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Credit "The Trust Index" with the reading name and date, and link to the reading. Cite the reading, not a page that may later show a newer one. Downloadable data files (ranking, cell-level and answer data, prompt sets and eligible-business lists) are not licensed under CC BY: you may download and use them for reporting, teaching and non-commercial research with the same credit, but redistributing them or using them commercially requires a data licence from LittPro Inc.
No Creative Commons licence covers the Trust Index name, logo, badges or ratings. Trust Index™ and the Trust Index badge are trademarks of LittPro Inc. and may be used only under licence. Trust Index ratings come only from index readings published by LittPro Inc. Only assessors on the public register may run Trust Index assessments, and an assessment is never a rating. The methodology is published under Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-ND 4.0): you may share it unchanged with credit, but you may not distribute modified versions or use it to issue ratings under the Trust Index name. Other site text, design and code are copyright LittPro Inc.; you may quote them with attribution.
Badges and advertising claims
A business that wants to use a Trust Index result in advertising, marketing or on its own website needs a badge licence. Licensed claims must follow section 9 of the methodology: reproduce the metric, rank, geography, category and date exactly, and link to the reading. A claim may never say that AI ranked, chose, endorsed or trusts a business. Badges expire when the next reading publishes, and paraphrase voids the licence. Journalists and researchers reporting on results do not need a badge licence.
Corrections
Any business, regulator or reader can request a correction. Requests are acknowledged within 2 business days and resolved within 10. Every correction is logged with its date on the affected page and in the version history. A corrected reading keeps its original URL, and the superseded figures stay visible, struck through, for 90 days.
Acceptable use
Use the published data files rather than scraping the site at a rate that disrupts it. Do not submit false correction requests or impersonate a business. Do not present our figures in altered form or attribute to us something we did not publish.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, LittPro Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made using the index. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Links to other sites
We link to public registers and to business websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.
Changes
If we change these terms we will update the date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
