Privacy policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026
The Trust Index is published by LittPro Inc. ("we"). This policy covers this website only: what it collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
LittPro Inc., a Delaware corporation. Privacy questions: privacy@thetrustindex.ai. LittPro Inc.'s privacy officer is accountable for privacy at the Trust Index.
What we collect when you visit
Google Analytics and PostHog record the pages you view, your approximate location (city level, worked out from your IP address), your device and browser type, how you arrived, and how you move through a page, such as clicks and scrolling. We use this to see which pages are read and to fix the ones that do not work.
Fonts and scripts on this site load from Google and jsDelivr content networks, which receive your IP address as part of delivering them.
The business search on the Check page runs in your browser against the published list. We do not store what you type. If you open the page with a search already in the address (for example /check?q=markham), analytics tools record that address like any other page address.
What we collect when you use a form
The correction form asks for your name, your email address, the business and its website, the type of request, and the details you give us. We use this to investigate and answer the request, and to keep the public correction log. The log records what changed and when. It does not publish your name or email address. The other forms on this site collect only what they show, and we use it only to answer that request: the claim form (your name and role, work email, business name, registry or licence number, and anything the page gets wrong); the badge licence request form (name and role, email, business and reading, intended use, notes); the assessor interest form (organisation name, website, contact name, email, verticals, regions, notes); and the practitioner interest form (full name, email, organisation, verticals, relevant experience).
Form submissions are handled by Trust Index staff. They are not used for sales or marketing, and making a request never changes how a business is scored except where a correction is upheld.
Information about businesses
Rankings are built from public registers, such as the HCRA Ontario Builder Directory and the RHRA retirement home register, and from what AI assistants say in answer to the published questions. Our pages are about businesses, not individuals. Where a business is a sole proprietorship or carries a person's name, that name and its public registration details appear because they are part of the public register. We do not publish the full text of assistant answers. Any business can ask for a correction at any time.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising cookies or show advertising on this site.
Service providers and where data is stored
Webflow (hosting and the site's forms), Google Analytics and PostHog (analytics) process data on our behalf. They store and process it outside Canada, mainly in the United States, so it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and regulators there.
How long we keep it
Form submissions (corrections, claims, badge licence requests, assessor and practitioner interest) and our replies: three years from the request. Analytics data: fourteen months. Records we are legally required to keep: as long as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, and ask us to delete it, subject to records we must keep. You can block analytics with your browser's tracking protection or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Email privacy@thetrustindex.ai and we will respond within 30 days, as PIPEDA requires. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Security
We use established providers, encrypted connections and access controls, and we limit who can see correction requests. No system is perfectly secure. If something happens that affects your information, we will tell you promptly.
Children
This site is written for businesses, researchers and journalists. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for anything significant we will say so on the site.
